Beer Label Design - On The Fly Brown Ale

The first strike of a beautiful spotted brown trout is a lasting memory for those crafting flies. Crafting the perfectly balanced American Brown Ale with an enticing label design can be just as elusive. Get your tastebuds ready for a 6% ALC. / VOL. dark colored brew with forward notes of caramel, nuts and the oh so subtle hint of coffee. A solid brew deserves a label that matches it’s personality and flavor!

Designed for 1623 Brewing Company located in Eldersburg, MD

At Hoot Design Studio, my creative process first begins with a pencil sketch. Then the ink is overlaid and the final art is digitized. Once the art is in Photoshop I add color and textures to elevate the hand drawn illustration. Finally, I design the label itself paying close attention to the front of the can to make sure all the graphics are visible when looking at the can face on. Brand recognition starts with the packaging!

Want to create additional brand awareness in your taproom?

Think custom coaster design! For 1623 Brewing Company we repurposed some of the can art and created dynamic beer mats that are not only fun to look at, but also keep their brewery top of mind!

Beer label design is an investment, not a price tag.

In a nut shell your packaging design matters because it’s what sells your product! Can your customer’s relate to the design on the label?

Snag the right audience and target market for your brew by using enticing imagery that is relatable to their hobbies and interests. For example: trout fly fishing! If a group of buddies are planning a weekend fishing trip, I guarantee they are going to gravitate toward sampling a new beer that speaks to their interests AND they will be back for more once they had a taste!
