What’s with the Instagram Algorithm?
Anyone else experiencing low engagement on their posts in 2022?

Anyone else seeing low engagement on their Instagram?
It’s like a switch went off in 2022 and IG stopped pushing out our posts! Looks like they are favoring reels and videos.
I’m not in the business of being a movie producer.
There I said it. BUT seriously what happened to the organic growth? It’s not fair to artists and small businesses to hide our posts because it’s not a video. I’m sorry I’m not going to spend hours creating, snipping and clipping film together to create these all the time.
OK once in awhile, I get it! But please don’t change the algorithm to keep up with the Joneses. This isn’t TikTok. If I wanted to waste my time all day with videos, I’d be there. BUT I’m here on your platform.
I want to make art and see art!
AND yes, I still post videos and have fun making the occasional reel WHEN I have time. BUT it shouldn’t be a requirement to grow organically.
Can anyone else relate?
Has the algorithm been unbalanced your way too? Are your trying to make reels to keep up! Do you actually watch the videos that show up in your feed?
Anyone else NOT in the business of making reels?
I’m an artist. A graphic designer and small business. I’m not in the business of making videos.
I understand the value of creating good content. Shareable posts. Process videos of making my art. BUT if I spent all day filming, I wouldn’t get anything done. It interrupts my process to record, stage shoots and post gimmicky videos. If that’s how I wanted to spend my time, I’d be on TikTok all day. BUT I’m here on your platform Instagram.
Please fix your algorithm to support small businesses, artists and entrepreneurs putting themselves out there!
