Get to know me, Jen of Hoot Design Studio! We chat about the label designs I’ve done for Monument City Brewing in Baltimore, MD and 1623 Brewing Company in Eldersburg, MD.
Learn a bit about behind the scenes of Hoot Design Studio and my creative process for designing craft beer labels. My favorite medium to create in - you guessed it, pen & ink. I love adding the original hand crafted vibe and organic look to labels!
Shout out to the amazing ladies at Ten Eyck Brewing Company! I’m SO stoked to be working together. Thank you for letting me create some labels for you!
Ten Eyck Brewing Company is locally owned by a team of women veterans and first responders. They’ve served around the globe, and now they want to serve our Eastern Shore community. Their mission is to serve delicious handcrafted beer, cider, and homemade non-alcoholic sodas to the community and beyond. Give their Instagram a follow here.
Although my floof Bear didn’t make an appearance this time, Rob had a great story to share that involves a camel, alpacas and a cute story about being a referee!
You won’t want to miss Rob’s story about this camel! Tune in to our video above and find out what’s got Jenna and I buzzing to illustrate this story! We think it would make a great illustration for a Hazy IPA!
A well-designed label visually communicates stories. It invites the viewer in with a visual taste and what to expect.

The rad team at Monument City Brewing are making some epic brews and know the power of packaging and branding.
I love bringing the personality of the beer out in the label. The folks at 1623 Brewing Company know their liquid! A cold brew with a hot name: Sinking Ship. For this label we wanted to bring forth the cool yet tropical notes of all the coconut that went into the mash with an illustration that matches the clever name.
What are our favorite styles of beer? … well you will just have to listen in!
